To learn from the past COVID ‐ 19 epidemic and to prepare a solution for a functional system of reliable thermodiagnostics of people in the Czech Republic for future epidemic threats manifesting the increased temperature of those infected.
Practically verify the hypothesis of a more accurate determination of the internal temperature of the measured person coming from an external warmer / colder environment, using an IR camera with a more sophisticated evaluation of the temperature field distribution.
Practically verify the hypothesis of earlier diagnosis of the onset of the epidemic and monitoring of its course using IR cameras with advanced processing of time series thermograms of a large number of people.
Develop a methodology for the use of thermographic diagnostic tools in times of “peace”, at the beginning of the epidemic, in the ongoing epidemic, and in local outbreaks.
To pass on information about new possibilities of using thermal imaging systems to the components of the integrated rescue system and to train them for more efficient and effective provision of their tasks not only during the epidemic.
To acquaint the professional and general public with the results of research and development and thus ensure wider application of project results, strengthen cooperation with the components of the integrated rescue system and achieve an increase in the level of security of the state and citizens in case of epidemic threats in the future.
Why we do it?
Because we want the installed IR cameras to measure correctly. This is because devices with unsuitable technical parameters are often used or systems with suitable parameters are used in an inappropriate way.
Because we want a methodology for measuring with IR cameras that would meet the needs of measuring people coming from the external environment (untempered people). The existing Czech standard ČSN EN IEC 80601-2-59 does not address these needs.
Because we want to prepare a solution for a functional system of reliable thermodiagnostics of people in the Czech Republic for more brilliant management of future epidemic threats manifested by the increased temperature of those infected.
Because we want to help the integrated components of the rescue system in their work so that they can function more efficiently and effectively not only in times of pandemic.
Because we want to spread knowledge and educate the public, which will then make the right decisions in this area.
For whom is it meant?
The public (better protection)
Components of the integrated rescue system (regional hygienic stations, rescue services, firefighters, police ….)
Other users and owners of IR measuring systems (more reliable equipment, independent information on the purchase of technical equipment…)
Serious manufacturer of IR measuring systems (verification of basic functions, educated customers…)
The scientific community (new possibilities for more accurate temperature determination, new possibilities for monitoring)
The University of West Bohemia (application of results in practice, references, increase of know-how, fulfilment of the role of social responsibility, new contacts…)
Techmanii Science Center (new and practical experience with research, educational exposition, publicity, popularization of scientific results…)
